Australian Dairy Youth Autumn Tasmanian Tour
If you are aged 18 to 25 why not join us later this month for the Australian Dairy Youth Association (ADY) Autumn Tassie Tour.
Led by Bryan Dickson, Emu Banks Holsteins & Jerseys, the tour begins in Launceston on Monday 28th April, and includes visits to a number of farms, prominent Tasmanian herds, Tasmanian Dairy Research Facility, and the annual Agfest Field Day, organised and hosted by Rural Youth.

Monday 28th April
- Arrive Launceston by 4pm
- Transfer to Somerset
- Welcome dinner
- Overnight - Best Western Burnie Murchison Lodge, Somerset
Tuesday 29th April
- Transfer to Edith Creek
- 10am to 12pm - Jeffrey Gijsbers & Monique Mulder, 50:50 share farming operation, Edith Creek
- Transfer to Elliott including lunch stop
- 2 to 4pm – Lesley Irvine, Tasmanian Dairy Research Facility, Elliot
- Transfer to Deloraine
- Overnight - Mountain View Country Inn, Deloraine
Wednesday 30th April
- Transfer to Westbury
- 9.00 to 11.00am – Ken & Jill Lawrence, Fermer Partnership, Westbury
- Transfer to Launceston
- 12.30 to 2.30pm - James Boag Brewery Tour, Launceston
- 3 to 5pm – Elton Vale Dairy, Will Baldwin & Shannon Barwick, 4 x Lely Astronaut A5 robots milking 230 cows
- Overnight - Mountain View Country Inn, Deloraine
Thursday 1st May
- 9am to 3pm – Agfest Field Day, Carrick
- Transfer to Launceston airport
- 3.30pm - end of trip
Inclusions
- All transfers, accommodation, meals (excluding alcoholic drinks), farm visits, Agfest admission, brewery tour - fully inclusive cost from arrival Launceston 28th April to end of trip on Thursday 1st May.
- Accommodation a combination of twin (2 beds and /or bedrooms) and single rooms (to keep costs as low as possible)
