Combined Dispersal sale tops $8,000
The Complete Dispersal Sale of Master Breeders Holloddon Holsteins and Kayton Holsteins was met with strong competition earlier this month as bidders and local industry supporters flocked to see the cows on offer.
The sale took place Thursday the 15th of July at the Echuca Selling Centre and buyers from throughout Victoria and NSW gathered to see the offering complimented by the select entries from the Dispersal of Leighfield (Courtney Buchanan) and two-time Master Breeder Ingoldale (herd of Jim Gilmore).
Topping the sale at $8,000 was Kayton Goldchip Irene EX90. She is an 8 year old 11th generation EX and VG who sold to enthusiastic buyer Clydevale Holsteins. The Master Breeder took home a handful of stock including the top selling heifer from Holloddon in Control Charcole 2705 who is a daughter of the Tableau Charcole EX92-2E for $4,400 and a 7 year old 10th gen EX & VG who came from the Kayton group Dornbrae Windbrook California (Imp.ET) VG for $3,700.
The next top price was paid for the 2019 All Australian 2 year old winner Paringa Beemer Lilah VG86 who is backed by the famed Tahora ‘L’ family. She was purchased by Eloora Past. Co of Southern NSW for $5,500.
Leighfield Doorman Blonde (Imp.ET), VG86 sold to P Fullerton of Nirranda for $5,000.She is the granddaughter of former All Canadian Winner Advent Bambi EX94.
Rockstar Emilio Cranberry bred from the famed Avonlea Connie family sold for $4,500 to M Dennis of Calivil.
Several Holloddon heifers sold at $4,000 each including Holloddon MVP Leonie 2704 who is bred from a VG87 13,000 litre dam who sold to C & N Hibberson of Yarroweyah. Holloddon Contender Laura 2721 who is from a VG88 dam with over 12,000 litres and Holloddon Numero Bebe 2742 both sold for $4,000 each to C Lister. Holloddon Numero Laura 2747 who is from a VG86 show-winning dam also sold at $4,000 to R & R Robins.
The sale was held by Dairy Livestock Services in conjunction with Elite Livestock Auctions and grossed $284,950 with a sale average of $3,100.
