STRONG SALE AVERAGE TO KICK OFF 2024!
The sale of quality Registered Holsteins has been proving fruitful for breeders over the first few months of 2024 - with outstanding sale averages achieved around the country. Let's have a look at some of top sales to have taken place so far this year - providing many Holstein Australia members with the opportunity to invest in quality cow families.

ST GENETICS 'CREATE THE FUTURE' SALE
International Dairy Week - Wednesday, 17th January 2024
The annual ST Genetics sale at IDW set a record for the highest average seen in Australia for a multi-breed sale - with the Holstein lots leading the way.
Avonlea Master Vee VG - the reigning Sydney Royal Intermediate Champion sold for the top price of $36,000, on account of Gavenlock and Polson to Antvale Cattle Co, Ellenborough, NSW.
The Lambda granddaughter of 2023 World Dairy Expo Champion - Erbacres Snapple Shakira EX97 sold for an impressive $22,000 on account of Zoe Hayes to Cypress Grove Holsteins, Foster VIC.
The 2024 Junior Champion Holstein, Gorbro Hano O Princess was a late entry to the sale but didn't disappoint as she sold for $18,000 to Maxmount, Smethurst Park and McDonald Park Holsteins. Also selling for $18,000, was Scotts Creek Unstopabull Miranda-IMP-ET-RED, on account of Troy Lindquist to M & K Walpole of Yalca, VIC.
Robsvue Have Five-IMP-ET - granddaughter of World record price holder, SSI Doc Havenot 8784 EX96, was sold by Rob and Bec Walmsley to Wootanga Park Dairy, Orford, VIC.
Other lots of note included Grantley Sidekick Fifi, sold for $16,000 to Staley Farms and Elmar Davinici Jessica 5185, who sold to A Peatling for the same price.

JUNNASH HOLSTEINS PRODUCTION SALE
Karl and Kristy Cash of Lancaster offered a strong line up of deep pedigreed in milk cows at their Production Sale held at the Shepparton Saleyards in February.
The top priced lot was Bluechip Diamond D Daisy VG89 at $10,000 - selling to A & C Peatling of Katunga. They also purchased Andes Mayfield Julie VG89
for $7,000 and Haven View Solomon Delia 2 VG for $4,600.
Westmuir Byway Ambition VG87 sold for $5,000 to Rokalove Holsteins of Katandra, while Jayke and Bec Fisher of Quality Ridge Holsteins bought Haven View Solomon Desiree VG87, a member of the famous Ding family, for $4,750.
66 lots averaged $3,333.
MURRIBROOK FINAL DISPERSAL
It was the final in a long series of outstanding sales for the Dispersal of Murray Sowter's Master Breeder Murribrook stud in Moss Vale, NSW.
Murribrook Solomon Cher topped the sale at $19,000 - heading to Tasmania; purchased by Olivia Millhouse and Southwick Holsteins. She sold in calf to Bullseye and was bred from a VG87 Windhammer from Goldwyn Candace EX93.
Selling at $18,000, to Gorbro Holsteins - was Murribrook Chief Lexi - a stunning heifer from Doorman Lexi EX - backed by the popular Skychief Lola family.
Murribrook Lambda Char, a yearling daughter of Goldwyn Candace EX93 sold for $12,000 to Cypress Grove Holsteins, while also purchasing her full sister - Murribrook Lambda Casino for $10,000. The same buyers also selected Murribrook Sidekick Cabernet, breeding back to Belroux Storm Cristal EX96, for $10,000.
Bransgrove and Olsen from Neerim, Victoria made some top selections - purchasing three heifers for $10,000 each; Murribrook Diamond Raven (bred from Durham Robina EX92), Murribrook Sidekick Gaynor (bred from 8 generations of EX/VG) and Murribrook Chief Licorice, breeding from Savage-Leigh Licorice EX92.
Murribrook Lambda Candace, a Delta Lambda daughter of Octane Candace VG88 sold for $10,000 to Bransgove and Olsen, while Eloora Pastoral Co of NSW bought Murribrook Crushabull Pearl, also for $10,000
Embryo's were popular, with a top price of $1,500 per embryo.

SIMPSON SETTLEMENT SALE
The 2nd Annual Settlement Sale was held following Simpson Show in early March - with the top lot selling for $10,000.
Scott Creek Altitude Apple RC, an eleven-month-old daughter of the legendary Apple, sold for $10,000 on account of Tom Lindquist to Leslie Manor Farms.
Bluechip Chief Lady, breeding back to Fairvale Morty Lady 51 EX97 sold by Weel and Glennen to R & A Wilson, NSW.
Three Holstein heifers sold for $6,000: The Points Mirand Mable 3 (account: I & K McKie) sold to Westmuir Farms. The Points Chief Balmoral (I & K McKie) sold to Matt and Nicola Templeton of View Fort Holsteins, while Jaguar Diamondback Adeen (A Courtney) sold to K & A Walters of Tasmania.

CHERRYLOCK 'PARTY AT THE PARK' SALE
It was another great installment of the Cherrylock 'Party at the Park' sale series, with an overall sale average of $7, 602.
Holstein top lot was Mario Park Unstopabull Aleece, who sold for $16,000 to S & L Coombes.
Cherrylock Tequila Tango-IMP-ET sold for $10,000 as did the Mitch Holsteins consignment of Mitch Latenight Beauty 2-ET-RED.
The first-choice daughter from Jacobs Lambda Shayla RC* VG87 sold for an impressive $15,000, while Mario Park Moovin Alicia-ET-RED, sold for $10,500.
