Eclipse Holsteins have closed out with a bang cleaning up $27,000 for the sale topper.
The final Eclipse Holsteins On Farm Sale of Master Breeder Richard Hull at Jancourt East saw 122 Holsteins gross $671,950 with an average of $5,510 selling across all states except WA.
The sale topper Eclipse Jordy Lotto VG87 sold to Queensland buyers A & S Barron of the famed Ardylbar herd of Cambooya. She completes 11 generations of EX and VG with her 3rd dam Eclipse Shottle Lotto EX; a former IDW Intermediate Champion. She is on her first lactation and is due in September to sexed Jagger.
Coming in at equal second at $14,000 was Eclipse Jordy August-Red who is backed by 9 direct generations of EX dams. She is in calf to sexed Diamondback and sold to G & L Hibberd of Cooriemungle Holsteins of Timboon. They also selected the freshly calved heifer Eclipse Doc Frosty (Imp.ET) for $14,000. She is by King Doc from a Byway, from a Doorman bred down from the two-time World Dairy Expo Grand Champion Harvue Roy Frosty, EX97.
Gorbro Holsteins of Cohuna picked up Eclipse Crush A1 Princess 1V, VG86 from the former All Australian 2 year old winner Atwood Princess EX91 for $13,250 along with Eclipse Emilio O Princess; a heifer in calf to sexed Jagger at $7,750.
Bulk buyer Kayton Holsteins of Cohuna took home the top selling unjoined heifer Eclipse Moovin Jenn 2 for $12,200; she is a daughter of the 4th generation EX Eclipse Sid Jenn; a grand daughter of famous Canadian Show Cow Valleyville Lheros Jenn EX94. They also took home Eclipse Crushabull D Princess 1 from the famed Brood Cow Eclipse Damion G Princess EX for $9,500 along with Westmuir Doc Ainsley 111 (Imp.ET) VG for $8,000, Eclipse Jordy D Princess for $7,000 and Eclipse Champ Paradise for $7,000.
Local Breeder Roger Russell of Maple Ridge Holsteins paid $11,000 for Eclipse Solomon 7 Princess 2 VG87; she completes 8 generations EX and VG and her younger full ET sister Eclipse Solomon 7 Princess 4 VG86 sold for $10,000 to Eloora Past Co of Blighty, NSW.
The joined heifer bred from the 11th generation EX and VG cow De Rith Cinderella 21 EX; a Shottle from the Giessen Cinderella/Roxy family is Eclipse Bradnick Cinderella (Imp.ET) who sold for $9,000 to Westmuir Holsteins of Bungador. They also selected a yearling heifer bred from 10 gens of EX & VG dams; Eclipse Moovin Cretonne 2 for $7,250.
Eclipse Altitude J Princess-Red due to sexed Mirand-PP was the first Red Princess and sold for $9,000 to R & B Walmsley of South Australia.
Sea Breeze Mirand Hague-Red-Poll who is backed by 5 generations of VG was purchased by M Hassett of Singleton, NSW also sold for $9,000.
