Holstein Australia will be hosting two classification workshops in Gippsland on 17th and 18th September. Members will be able to learn more about the recent classification system updates and new user friendly post-visit reporting at Aylesbury Holsteins, Yarram on 17th September and Starcrest Holsteins, Jindivick on 18th September.

Tuesday 17th September

- Time - 11am start, wrapping up after lunch, provided by Zoetis, around 1.45pm
Wednesday 18th September
- Event – Jindivick Classification Workshop
- Venue - Starcrest Holsteins, 35 Mitchell Road, Jindivick, Victoria, 3818
- Time - 11am start, wrapping up after lunch, provided by Zoetis, around 1.45pm
Both events will start at 11am with a welcome from your hosts, Aylesbury Holsteins’ Justin Staley and Starcrest’s Hayden Dodd, followed by a member of the class team demonstrating the updated classification system and running through the changes you will see on farm during your next classifier visit.
What to expect at our Gippsland Class Days
Following a demonstration of the new classification system by Leanne Summerville, Peter Williams from DataGene will run brief sessions on genetic improvement, with a focus on the best way to work with classification and genomic data.
Holstein Australia staff will also be on hand to demonstrate our new tissue sampling ear tags and talk all things HA with members.
Each day will run from 11am and wrap up around 1.45pm, with lunch (provided by Zoetis) and a herd walk.
