Somerelle dispersal tops $6,250
The Somerelle Holsteins Dispersal Sale of Master Breeder Scott Somerville’s all spring calved cows topped out at $6,250.
Sale topper Somerelle Contrast Meg, VG87, a 10th generation EX and VG is a 4-year-old bred from the famed Wyoming Meg family and sold to P Price of Leongatha.
Next top at $6,200 was Somerelle Yorick Constance, VG88; a well framed 6-year-old from the highly regarded Avonlea Connie family. She sold to C Freemantle P/L of Prairie who also selected Somerelle Goldwyn Oriole, VG88; an imported ET 6-year-old backed by four direct EX dams who sold at $4,200.
Tatura breeder Fred DeCicco took home Somerelle Crush Sandee; a GP84 heifer from the Leader Satin family for $4,500.
Eloora Past Co of Deniliquin, NSW bought Somerelle Steady Style, EX90 who completed seven generations of EX and VG for $4,300, along with Somerelle Bradnick Stormyfloss; a GP 84 heifer backed by seven generations of VG dams for $4,000.
The Corolla family picked up 6th generation VG Somerelle O’Kaffeine Coroldee for $4,000.
Selling agents Dairy Livestock Services report buyers came from Northern Victoria, Gippsland, the Hunter Valley and Mid North Coast of NSW.
A total of 86 Holstein cows sold to AV $2,823.
