Warramont tops $4,750
Master Breeders David and Trudy Fiebig of Mt Gambier, SA recently held their 2nd Stage Complete Dispersal Sale grossing $324,770.
The sale held at the Mortlake Selling Centre in mid-august offered 105 Holsteins with 70 young cows that were mostly spring calving with many AI to sexed.
Topping the sale at $4,750 was 6 year old Warramont Kingboy Daybreak 13, VG86. She is a 12th generation EX and VG cow who sold to return buyer Peter Fullerton of Nirranda South.
Mr Fullerton also selected Warramont Fedora Deluxe; a heifer due to River from a 13th generation EX and VG dam at $4,200.
The next highest price was paid for Warramont Pharo Faye. She comes from a VG87 dam and sold for $4,700 to S & T Gledhill of Tongala.
Jancourt East buyer N Niewenhuizen snapped up several top lots including the young red cow Warramont Malonred Emblem as well as Warramont Pharo Jessica; a heifer from a VG87, 10,000 litre dam at $4,600 each.
Mr Niewenhuizen also took home Warramont Rager Flirt; a red heifer bred down from the Royal Champion Warramont Winluke Frosti, EX91 for $4,300.
Leslie Manor Farm picked up Warramont Meridian Frappe, VG86 for $4,500 and R & R McLean of Bamawn took home Warramont Solomon Major; a heifer backed by 8 gens of VG dams for $4,200.
With Covid-19 restrictions in place, the vendors were not permitted to attend their sale but tuned in to watch via Elite Livestock Auctions.
With a 100 percent clearance rate, the Warramont herd found new homes throughout all parts of Victoria and sold at average of $3,100.
