Animal Awards
Holstein Australia Awards provide objective assessment of the progress of your breeding program.
From recognition of superior classification or production in a single lactation right through to all-round excellence over a lifetime, these awards are credible evidence of the merit of individual animals, their families and your entire herd.
The Holstein Australia award search is free to breeder members and adds tangible value to your cows and their progeny. Note: the printing and posting of award certificates incurs a fee.
Combined Longevity and Progeny Recognition
Combined awards for longevity and progeny performance are issued to recognise those animals who have made a significant contribution to the development of the Holstein breed in Australia. Awards include superior production, longevity, transmission of superior production with desirable conformation to their progeny.
Superior Total Performance
The Superior Total Performance award recognises cows with a minimum classification of VG85 for Type and a lifetime production of 50,000 litres milk, 1,875 kg fat and 1,600 kg protein over six completed lactations. The mammary system is to be classified with the mammary value calculated as 85 or higher. Members should note that the Superior Total Performance award is applied for individually at classification.

Star Brood Cow
The Star Brood Cow award recognises genetically superior brood cows based on the conformation and production performance of their progeny. EligibilityTo qualify for Star Brood Cow award, a female MUST:
PointsONE STAR is awarded for every SIX POINTS gained, with the points allocated as follows: Classification
P1 Production (Single Lactation) ONE POINT for each daughter recording a single 305-day lactation of minimum:
P2 Production (lifetime) Each daughter with lifetime production in excess of:
P3 Production (ABV) Each son with an Australian Breeding Value above breed average:
